The Paulaner Brauerei is Bavaria's largest brewery, with annual production of more than 1,500,000 barrels. An indispensible part of Munich's famed Oktoberfest, Paulaner is used to wash down 700,000 chickens and 600,000 sausages each year at the beery celebration. Paulaner's 1995 Oktoberfest beer was awarded a platinum medal in the 1995 World Beer Championships, along with gold medals for its Premium Pils and Original Munich lagers. Quantity production at Paulaner has not meant a sacrifice in quality.
