The beer half of our little store continues to captivate the attention of us as well as our customers. It seems there is constantly a new item, or even better MORE of those ever elusive, hard to get, small production offerings from the more eclectic breweries like DogfishHead, Stone, Flying Dog, and North Coast. It's almost getting hard to keep up with.
The Dogfish Head World Wide Stout has been in for awhile now. There simply is no substitute for WWS. It's produced but once per year and it truly is the end of the world. Beergirl and I have really struggled with picking a favorite beer around here, but I guarantee this is in the top 3.
Another in our top 3 is DogfishHead Theobroma which arrives in our store Friday August 27th.
Although we have several sour beers on hand now, the whole Cantillon line is out. You sour lovers keep in mind that thanks to increased demand from some bars like Novare Res and Ebenezer's, the small amounts made available to our distributor must get spread out a lot more, so we simply can't just call and order more. What we have is what you get until the next shipment arrives from Belgium.
Now that the entire Southern Tier line is here we're very excited, especially with the addtion of the Creme Brulee Imperial Milk Stout. OMG what an amazing beer. I can't say enough. It's simply titilating! Men and women alike think it's just dreamy. We are expecting some collaboration brews in shortly, but since they seem to be having trouble getting them registered in Maine, I'll wait to make any annoucements and just whisper Victory/Dogfish Head, shhhhhh.
If you are a dark beer enthusiast then allow me to whole-heartedly recommend the latest release of Fluxus from Allagash. It's a Chocolate Imperial Stout and it's just to die for. Since this is an annual release and the brewery assures us this product is oh-so-cellarable, we are packing up on cases as we can afford them. It's pricey, but you won't regret a dime of it's $17, and you'll pat yourself on the back a year from now if you can keep it around that long. Currently drawing an A- on BA.
The third version of Sierra Nevada's 30th Anniversary collaboration brews has arrived. We currently have none of the 1st release, about a case of 2nd release and at least 2 cases of the third - a Black Barleywine. link to great videos on the concept and collaborations.
There's more, oh so much more, you'll just have to come in and see.
